New routes to study social sciences at university in Holland

Holland International Study Centre has developed its pathway programmes to provide more opportunities for social sciences students to progress to university in Holland. 

Social sciences subjects focus on human behaviours and society, developing your understanding of the world we live in. Degrees take a critical look at issues and changes in society through the study of subjects such as economics, history, political science, psychology and sociology. 

The International Foundation Year in Business, Economics and Social Sciences now includes social sciences, political sciences and philosophy modules for students looking to progress to a related degree. 

Study Social Sciences at Tilburg University

Tilburg University is ranked 125th in the world for Social Sciences (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018). Once you successfully complete the International Foundation Year in Business, Economics and Social Sciences, you can progress to one of the following social sciences degrees at Tilburg: 

BSc Global Management of Social Issues 

This three-year degree looks at human resource studies, organisation studies and sociology to develop your understanding of challenges faced by societies around the world. The final year of study includes a practical element through either an internship, additional minor course, or by studying your minor abroad. 

BSc Human Resource Studies: People Management 

Understand the human side of business, focusing on performance and efficiency of organisations and the wellbeing of employees. This three-year degree combines psychology, management studies, sociology and economics to study people at work. This degree also offers the opportunity to study a semester abroad.  

BSc International Sociology 

Study migration, poverty, inequality and cultural differences and relate to politics and policy. Studying International Sociology will develop your understanding of social problems in the modern world. This is a three-year undergraduate degree and includes an internship in the final year.

Study Social Sciences at VU Amsterdam

The International Foundation Year in Business, Economics and Social Sciences leads to a three-year degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at VU Amsterdam. After successfully completing your programme you can progress to your degree at the University.

BSc Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE)

PPE is ideal preparation for future leaders in business, politics and academia. You’ll study statistics, decision theory and critical thinking, developing the skills you need to examine complex social issues. This is a three-year degree offering theoretical training and hands-on experience.
