University of Twente

Research-focused degree programmes

The University of Twente has a reputation as one of the best research universities in Europe, ranked 153rd in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017. Teaching is dynamic, and you’ll make links between a range of disciplines during your degree.

Degree programmes focus on the development of technology and its impact on society. This motivates graduates to pursue careers that contribute to global issues such as health and the environment.

Close links with global companies like Google, Philips, Boeing and Siemens help you to find work experience and internship opportunities. One of Holland’s most entrepreneurial universities, Twente also has a powerful start-up culture. In the past 20 years, 130 businesses and more than 800 spin-off companies have been started on campus. This entrepreneurial atmosphere encourages students to network, gain experience and find inspiration.

The University of Twente also hosts the world’s largest student think tank, Create Tomorrow, which takes place on campus each year.
